Very heavy duty step-down and step-up voltage converter. Converts 220 - 240V AC mains power to 110 - 120V AC 50/60Hz. Rated up to 8000 Watts. Allows use of US electrical equipment in the UK , Europe and vice versa. Must be installed by a qualified electrician and hard-wired into place. The unit is double insulated so the Circuit breaker will protect the unit from shock. You can earth the unit by removing one of the screws and using an earth strap.
The transformer can be used with loads of up to 8000 Watts (although in practice it is a good idea to allow some margin for error). This unit would normally be used for specialist permenent installations. This is a heavy duty desktop voltage converter and it weighs nearly 19KG.
The unit is not designed for use outdoors or in other unprotected locations. It does have over current protection.
