A common problem with the Oberheim Matrix 1000 is the loss or corruption of preset patches in clusters. This typically results in the appearance of "missing" patches or patches which don't sound right.Luckily the chip is in a socket, so you can simply pull it out and replace it with this new one.Replacement of the patch ROM chip (which is right next to the OS ROM chip) is easy and usually solves this problem.
