FYI: Lausanne was ordered in 1898 from Sulzer Frères, Winterthur (Switzerland) for
Compagnie Générale de Navigation sur le lac Léman. It was completed in 1900. 

At first he had stability problems. Her boilers were overhauled in 1924 and work was done on the hull. 
In 1927, a metal roof was placed on the upper deck which replaced the canvas and
 the front of the deck received protective glazing. The boat is again revised.

It was transformed in 1948-1949 and received a diesel-electric engine. 
In 1968, with a strong westerly wind, the Lausanne was no longer controllable and ran
aground at the Ouchy landing stage, crushing several small boats. It was finally demolished in 1978.

A modern boat with the same name was inaugurated in 1991.
