"COLERAINE, a busy marketing centre, is built on the estuary of the River Bann
which is navigable by sea-going vessels as far as the town. With the holiday resorts
of both Portrush and Portstewart within easy reach, Coleraine is a popular
tourist centre. Facilities include tennis courts and bowling greens and rowing
on the River Bann is a popular sport. The Lower Bann which enters the sea five miles
below the town is a famous salmon river."
