Born 30.4.1823 – 24.4.1900

He was a Scottish peer and liberal politician in Gladstone’s first government of 1868 to 1874.

He also became Secretary of State for India.

Printer of Lithographs and engravings established by Andrew MacLure & Archibald Grey MacDonald 

in Glasgow 1835 expansion included branches in Liverpool 1840 London 1845 & Manchester 1886.

Frank MacLure one of Andrew’s sons was made Lithographer to Queen Victoria in 1880s.

The company encountered difficult trading conditions and in December1992 

assets were acquired by I R Reid Printers of Blantyre, Scotland.
