What unites such performers as Alla Pugacheva, Alexander Buinov, Alexander Gradsky, Vyacheslav Malezhik, Alexey Glyzin, Alexander Barykin? Each of them joined the work of the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Merry Boys". ..during the Soviet era, the ensemble has always stood out for the professionalism of the performers and the quality of the repertoire against the background of other groups - "Gems", "Leisya, song", "Blue Guitars", "Singing Hearts", "Flame", "Singing Guitars", etcthe ensemble "Merry Guys" played an important role in the history of Soviet pop and rock music. It is with this group that the emergence of a new musical direction is associated - vocal and instrumental ensembles.
..The ensemble was founded in 1966 in Moscow by pianist and composer Pavel Slobodkin. And already in 1968, "Funny guys", having become a laureate of the All-Union competition, were awarded the first prize "For the best performance of a youth song." ..in 1969, at the same All-Union competition, the ensemble became a laureate and was awarded the first prize "For the best performance of a Soviet song".
..the first EP, which was released at the Melodiya studio in June 1970, brought great success and popularity to the ensemble.
