VB Talking Boonie Boony Beefy Boonanza II ASHES TEST CRICKET FIGURINE SET
Brand new, unactivated in box.
You get two plastic figurines/dolls (each stands 15cm high):
One David "Boony" Boon and one Ian
"Beefy" Botham.
Unlike the first generation of Boonie dolls, these talk at the press of a button once they have been activated (by removing a plastic tab).
They will bring you belly laughs a plenty as they both say a heap of different
things and even have conversations with each other.
According to online websites they have the ability to say over 100
different things, ranging from comments about cricket and sledging each others
team, to wanting to eat food and will even tell you when it is time to take the
rubbish out!
I have had my pair on the go for 12+ years now and still occasionally they
will say something I have never heard them say before!
First released for the 2006/2007 by VB for that seasons Ashes cricket
series they quickly sold out and now are very hard to find!!!
As part of the ASHES series in Australia in 2006/07, Foster's
Australia put together another massive VB promotion. This time, it was tagged
the 'Battle of the Tashes' and Boony was joined by old mate - legendary English
cricketer Ian 'Beefy' Botham.
Boonanza 2 - 'The Battle of the Tashes' paid tribute to the glory days
of test cricket and brought back a sense of 1980's nostalgia. Talking Boony and
Talking Beefy figurines harked back to their hey-days, dressed in Test Match
whites, proudly sporting their signature 'tashes'.
Moving forward from the first Boony campaign, the figurines were
powered by advanced infrared technology developed by Veil Interactive, the new
Talking Boony and Talking Beefy figurines engaged in friendly banter throughout
the summer. In-built timers, when positioned approximately 20cm apart (with the
infrared panels facing each other), triggered commentary between the figurines.
Another new technological feature is the push button, allowing each
figurine to talk on demand.
Batteries can be easily replaced meaning talking Boony and Beefy can live on forever.
Each comes with and is powered by 3 AAA batteries that can be easily
changed when flat (please note that while the dolls have not been activated,
unused batteries can deteriorate over time so you may need to change them
yourself before use).
Also comes with an easy to follow instructions booklet showing you how
to activate the set and change batteries.
