● Operation mode
The Gecko MkIII has three modes: E1, E2, and E3.
-E1: This mode is a preset pick mode. I change the preset number with the footswitch, but no MIDI signal is sent until I press the OK footswitch.
-E2: This mode is a preset immediate mode. Press the footswitch and a MIDI signal will be sent each time the preset number changes.
-E3: This mode is a direct mode. Press the footswitch and send the same MIDI signal to all channels each time the number changes.
● Preset
The Gecko Mk III has 20 presets. Each preset can store one PC (program change) message on each of the 16 MIDI channels.
E1 and E2 modes allow you to edit presets. PC # can be set in the range of 0 to 199. Also, if set to OFF, no MIDI signal will be sent to that MIDI channel.
* Depending on the device on the receiving side, it may not be possible to receive a value exceeding PC # 128.
● MIDI channel and tap tempo
Each MIDI channel can be turned off globally and individually. MIDI channels set to OFF globally are not displayed when editing presets, so setup can be shortened.
In addition, each MIDI channel can be used as a tap tempo control by setting the CC number to be transmitted when the OK / TAP foot switch is pressed. Since individual CC numbers can be set for each channel, tap tempo control can be performed for up to 16 devices at once.
