Lapid Pottery, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel 1944-1990 Lapid Pottery was formed in 1944 during British Mandate to Israel. The year 1949 was an Important year for the pottery when Dr. K. Moosberg became a main partner in the factory and the factory changed its original goal of making tiles and sanitary wares – to producing Art Pottery which is the Lapid Pottery most people are now familiar with. Lapid is certainly reminiscent of both Danish and West German pottery at the time, which is probably what attracts me to it….but at the same time there is nothing else quite like it. What I love about it is the pure Modernist nature of it – with the wonderful patterns, colours and designs. please review the photos and ask questions before bidding shipping is 49.95 as this is a large(over sized) and heavy fragile piece. I only ship to the USA. contact me as I have been known to ship outside the USA here and there. the measurements are about 18" tall, the diameter of the base is about 6 3/4" and the measurement across the top including the handle is about 9 1/2" this should be in a museum as it is the largest piece of Lapid pottery I have seen.
