Die Goldmünze aus Kanada zelebriert das 100. Jubiläum einer Legende der kanadischen Seefahrt - der Bluenose. Das Motiv zeigt ein Bild der Bluenose am Tag ihrer Vorstellung für die Öffentlichkeit. Es handelt sich um eine eher ungewöhnliche Darstellung des Schiffes, da es ohne Segel abgebildet ist. Mithilfe der Rumpfzeichnung, die im Hintergrund zu sehen ist, wird auf das stromlinienförmige Design angespielt, welches maßgeblich zu der erfolgreichen Fischerei- und Rennkarriere des Schiffes beitrug. Weiterhin sind Ausgabejahr, Nennwert und die Aufschrift "CANADA" im Design enthalten. Die Rückseite der Münze aus 99,99% reinem Gold zeigt das Porträt von Königin Elizabeth II. Die Bluenose war ein außergewöhnlich schneller und wendiger Schoner, der in den 1930er Jahren als Symbol für die Provinz Nova Scotia galt und auch ganz Kanada symbolisch repräsentierte. Bei dem Wettbewerb "Fisherman's Cup", der jährlich ausgetragen wurde, blieb die Bluenose über 17 Jahre in Folge unbesiegt. Ihr Name ist vermutlich darauf zurückzuführen, dass die Fischer an Bord großer Kälte ausgesetzt waren und infolgedessen als "Blaunasen" betitelt wurden. Am 28. Januar 1946 lief das Schiff vor Haiti auf ein Riff und sank. Die Lieferung der limitierten Bluenose Goldmünze in Polierter Platte erfolgt im Originaletui inklusive einem nummerierten Echtheits-Zertifikat der Royal Canadian Mint.

The Gold coin from Canada celebrates the 100th Anniversary of a legend of Canadian seafaring - the Bluenose. The motive features an image of the Bluenose at it's launch day. It is a rather unusual depiction of the ship, as it is shown without sails. With the help of the hull drawing, which is visible in the background, the streamlined design is alluded to, which contributed significantly to the successful fishing and racing career of the ship. Furthermore, the year of issue, the denomination and the inscription "CANADA" are included in the design. The reverse of the 99.99% gold proof coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The Bluenose was an exceptionally fast and maneuverable schooner that was a symbol of the province of Nova Scotia in the 1930s and also symbolically represented all of Canada. In the "Fisherman's Cup" competition, which was held annually, the Bluenose remained undefeated for 17 consecutive years. It's name is probably due to the fact that the fishermen on board were exposed to great cold and as a result were dubbed "bluenoses". On January 28, 1946, the ship ran into a reef off Haiti and sank.
