Die Silbermünze aus Kanada zelebriert das 100. Jubiläum einer Legende der kanadischen Seefahrt - der Bluenose. Das Motiv zeigt eine Abbildung der Bluenose, die auch als "Königin des Nordatlantik" bezeichnet wird, und von dem Schiffbauingenieur William J. Roué entworfen wurde. Neben dem Segelschiff wird auch die originale Skizzierung der Bluenose abgebildet. Das Schiff und die Skizze sind dabei so angeordnet, dass sie fließend ineinander übergehen. Darunter ist die Unterschrift von Roué zu erkennen. Weiterhin sind die Aufschrift "CANADA - DOLLAR" und die Jahresangaben "1921 - 2021" im Design enthalten. Die Rückseite zeigt das historische Porträt von König George V. Dieses Bildnis erschien im Jahr 1921 - als die Bluenose vom Stapel gelassen wurde - auf kanadischen Münzen. Die Bluenose war ein außergewöhnlich schneller und wendiger Schoner, der in den 1930er Jahren als Symbol für die Provinz Nova Scotia galt. Bei dem Wettbewerb "Fisherman's Cup", der jährlich ausgetragen wurde, blieb die Bluenose über 17 Jahre in Folge unbesiegt. Ihr Name ist vermutlich darauf zurückzuführen, dass die Fischer an Bord großer Kälte ausgesetzt waren und infolgedessen als "Blaunasen" betitelt wurden. Am 28. Januar 1946 lief das Schiff vor Haiti auf ein Riff und sank. The Silver coin from Canada celebrates the 100th Anniversary of a legend of Canadian seafaring - the Bluenose.
