Antique French Sterling Silver Clad Fish Serving Set,

Fork and Knife, Henri Lapeyre, Paris

This beautiful antique French sterling silver clad fish serving set in the Louis XV style is made up of a fork and a knife. The handles are handsomely designed in a Rococo pattern of stylized shells and leaves. The silver plated upper parts are engraved with flowers and stylized leaves and the blade of the knife is embellished with the image of a fish. The handles bear the French “Minerve Premier Titre” hallmark indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. They also bear the hallmark consisting of the letters “H” and “L” surrounding the image of two crescents and a spoon, the maker’s mark of Henri Lapeyre, master silversmith in Paris rue Meslay, between 1895 and 1923. These pieces are in very good condition, with the exception of faint scratches due to great age and normal use. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page. This elegant set will be an authentic French addition to your table setting or your collection.

Please refer to our other listings, we have an ice cream serving set and a carving set in the same pattern by Henri Lapeyre.
