Whimsical Carving of a Rabbit in Natural Hardstone with Ruby or Rubellite Eyes

Notes on item: A truly wonderful carving of a rabbit, attributed to Manfred Wild. It's done in the style made famous by Faberge who themselves used artisans and stones from Idar-Oberstein. The piece is made from a single piece of black rutilated quartz, also known as Black Tourmaline Quartz. This is an unusually large version, being about twice the size of the average hardstone sculpture. The way the sculpture was conceived is so the stone actually looks "fluffy", like a real rabbit. It's really beautifully done.
