souvenir card printed from the original plate issued for the Society
of Paper Money Collectors in 1981.
Features the face of an 1859 - 1868 $50 Bank of Selma,
Alabama obsolete note. The allegorical figure at the left was painted
by Thomas & James MacDonough and engraved by Charles Burt. The
portrait of CSA President Jefferson Davis at the right was
engraved by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson - New York, and is the only
known American Bank Note Company design using his portrait.
