Up for bid is this silver-plate over copper wine holder with lions head ring handles.  The piece was purchased in London in 1972 and the receipt is included; receipt shows the piece to be dated 1860 and sold for L 6.00.  The piece is not signed by the manufacturer, but it is stamped on the bottom "Silver on Copper."  We think it would be considered a Sheffield piece.  The piece is pierced along the sides and has a gadroon scalloped edge.  There are places on the base where the silver has worn and some copper shows through, but this appears minor.  Could use a good polishing by the new owner.  Shadows and glare from the flash.  A wonderful addition to your table or bar.  We will combine shipping and refund any postage overage soon after the piece is shipped. Thanks for looking.
