Description: Robert Jefferson, a journalist and amateur sportsman, became famous in the late nineteenth century for his pioneering cycling tours across Europe, and within the Russian and Ottoman Empires.  

Original hardback. No dustwrapper. 7 inches by 5 inches.  198 pages, plus adverts to rear and front. Original advert endpapers. Twenty illustrations by Harry Evans, all present and correct. 

The book is in very attractive condition with some age toning and some wear to the edges (see pictures). Binding sound and square. Free of inscriptions. Toning to leaves. A good honest example of this scarce book. 

The adverts are of particular interest, and include a full page advert for Rudge-Whitworth Bicycles of Birmingham, Gormully and Jeffery's Rambler Bicycle, Victor Hygienic Saddles of Walsall, and Kandt's Majestic Acetylene Gas Lamp.
