1899 antique color lithographed map of Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay,
printed more than 120 years
ago.
- The coverage area extends from Port Iquique in the
Tarapacá Region of northern Chile to Cape
Horn, at the southern tip of South America, including the Falkland Islands.
- Topography is drawn in relief, and the map locates railroads,
cities, towns, and natural features, with hundreds of place names.and political boundaries.
- Among the labeled features are the Straits of Magellan,
Tierra del Fuego, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Valparaiso, Concepcion, Chico River, King
William Land, Atacama, La Plata, Gulf of St. George, and Santiago, as well as numerous volcanoes in the Andes.
- The image area of the map measures 52 x 34 cm [20½" x
13½"] and longitude is measured from Greenwich.
- The map is titled Chili, Argentine Republic
and Uruguay and was published by
