    • Russia in Europe, Sweden, and Norway. The coverage area extends from the Arctic Circle to the Urals, south to the Black Sea, including the Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg,the Caucasus, and both Poland and Finland, which were part of Russia when this map was printed.

    • Denmark, including Holstein, the Skagerrak, Copenhagen, and Jutland.

    • Holland and Belgium, including the Duchy of Luxembourg, Friesland, Amsterdam, Flanders, and Liege.
  • Among the other named places and features are the Meuse River, Novgorod, Balaklava, Lublin, Stockholm, Lapland, the White Sea, the Volga River, Leyden, Dagestan, Kiev, Warsaw, Minsk, and the gold mines on the eastern side of the Ural Mountains.


  • The overall image area is 27.4 x 35 cm [10¾" x 13¾"], solid lines indicate railways, topography is shown in relief, and longitude is measured from Washington and Greenwich.
