Product Description
No! Wait! It's not what you think….IT'S HILARIOUS!

High School can be hard enough with just academics alone, but when love enters into the picture, it can unravel into a comedy of errors. Tenma has fallen for her oblivious classmate, but hasn't worked up the courage to express her feelings to him. She continually tries unorthodox plays to confess to him with a frustrating lack of success. Meanwhile, the class delinquent has fallen for Tenma and is making similar attempts. While this unlikely trio winds their way through the pitfalls of love and high school life, their friends and classmates become caught up in the chaos.

Volume 1 contains a cool magnet sheet to customize your locker, interviews with the voice actresses, original Japanese TV spots and much more!

The teen comedy School Rumble (2004) centers on a skewed romantic triangle. Perky Tenma Tsukamoto, who describes herself as an average high school sophomore, nurtures a gritty crush on her classmate Oji Karasuma. But Karasuma is so oblivious to everything, he wouldn't look up if Tenma set off firecrackers under his desk. Her general klutziness doesn't help the campaign to his win his heart: she leaves a multi-page love letter in his locker, but forgets to sign it. Johnny Depp-esque bad boy Kenji Harima is completely smitten with Tenma, but he's even more maladroit than she is. The series is funniest when Tenma and Kenji plan parallel schemes that backfire in different ways. Surveying the situation, one of Tenma's friends observes, "This doesn't bode well for the rest of the school year." School Rumble never attains the take-no-prisoners nuttiness of Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu! but director Shinji Takamatsu provides lots of laughs with spoofs of everything from Inu-Yasha to the Matrix movies. (Rated TV PG: suitable for ages 12 and older: comic violence, risqué humor) --Charles Solomon
