TJ R1 / TRUCK JIG / for "HO" trucks

The [ Truck Jig ] is a tool designed to hold the Central Valley freight car truck bolster.

This allows you to drill out the boss to the needed diameter.

I suggest using a “Pin Vise” and drill them by hand so you do not destroy the truck.

Most freight cars have 1/8^th inch bolster king-pins and need a 0.1285” bore (#30 drill bit) in the trucks.

Mantua freight cars with a metal under-frame have 9/64^th king-pins and require 0.147” boss (#26 drill bit) in the trucks.

The Jig was originally conceived to hold Central Valley trucks, but it fits most (2 axle) freight car trucks, although some have to be upside-down.

Kadee trucks will not fit this tool.  The [ TJ V2 ] will fit Kadee trucks.

The center void extends all the way through the jig.

The mounting holes will accommodate a #6 screw to attach the truck jig to a piece of wood or bench top.

The two freight cars are Mantua cars with a metal chassis (9/64th king pin) and Accurail trucks installed
