Say “no” to the street quality imported Chinese screens, if you don’t know how to choose the screens , just pay attention to 3 matters:

First:  Image sharpness- you need as sharp as possible 4K image rather than a VCD quality  image .

Second: the white colour should be like Snow white rather than like Matt or yellowish white, many grey surface screens fail to meet this requirement.

Third: the black should look like dark black rather than like dark grey. 

The Snow White and the dark black colours generate the widest colour contrast. Look all my screen photos, my screen photos meet all these criterias.

Forget about any screen manufacturer fantasy descriptions, the bottom line is that you need a sharp quality picture and true to life colour and contrast. Without showing real screen photos, there is no credibility to verify their  fantasy description.

The silver screen is suitable for any old & current long throw or Sony laser projectors , best for laser lamp projectors both long or ultra short throw projectors.

Basically, any long throw projector with lumen 1500 ansi above can turn into a all day cinema that can be watched in ambient light environment by changing into an update silver screen. There are many current projectors claimed 3000 lumen but actually you never use its maximum brightness in any projection environments, most of the time only uses 60% of the maximum brightness. So, you don’t need 3000 lumen for ambient light environment, don’t be misled by the projector manufacturer. The most important is that a lot of current ALR screens can not be used in L/throw projectors due to its structural surface. This is structureless surface that is best for L/throw projector for ambient light  and dark environments .

As the OpenAI GPT becomes popular, ultra resolution photos can be generated by the AI easily ,that are far over exaggerated the real screen's performance. The AI generated photos are completely irrelevant to the actual screen picture quality. If you could not find the screen actual display anywhere or no actual projection photos provided , you should smell something stink. People often go to the commercial cinema but never searching the screen specifications as they believe their eyes. Same as buying a projector screen, believe your eyes rather than the specifications you search from the google or the far over exaggerated description . In worse scenario, you pay double the price but not good picture quality.

The bigger the screen, the worse the picture quality. That is the main reason to have a real high resolution surface for a big screen.As high quality glass lens is very crucial to produce ultra high quality pictures just like Zeiss lens role in camera, but ultra short throw projector lacking of the lens makes impossible to achieve same picture quality as JVC N7 even  it can improve the chip’s performance and also the contrast is far not as good as N7 projector. So, it is very important to optimize the ultra short throw projector in resolution and contrast  in order to achieve the best result. It is not a easy work unless you know how to do it.Today’s all front projector surfaces are light reflective.Regarding CLR(ceiling light rejecting) surface, the ambient light actually comes from the side windows or doors, not from the ceiling, it is stupid to believe the unproven CLR theory. As CLR is a flat surface as a whole screen, it still has 60% light bound to be ceiling, only achieving 40% light reflection horizontally. It is structurally reflecting the light, as the results, it loses the picture resolution. It is okay when the screen is small like 100”, once the screen bigger than 110”, it would reveal its poor picture quality that is not 4K sharpness. That is the reason that you can not find any bigger than 100” CLR screen projection demonstration. If it is good product, it should be able to find demonstration everywhere like Apple products.

There are plenty imported ambient light grey surfaces on the market, and very cheap as well, besides they are not sharp enough for 4K projection, they have another problem that is the colour is incorrect,end up that the white is yellowish,  all the colours are flat, fading and liveless. So, you are better thoroughly to test it before you buy it. Don’t buy it without actually see it. Besides high resolution picture, the contrast needs to be widest and the colours needs to be correctly, it means that the white colour is like snow, not like yellowish, the black is dark black, not like dark grey, the overall colour is vivid.My Colorking surface is structureless and micro embossing dots that reflect the finest light .No matter how big the screen is, it still delivers a true 4K picture quality.

The most important factors that you need to know when buying a projector screen:

First: It must be a textureless surface.Second: As the projector designs for light reflective, so the quality of surface directively affects the picture quality. Same as the quality of the driver affects the quality of the sound in Hifi system. Then how and where to make the surface is very crucial. It is foolish to believe that the Asian surface has the same quality as the European surface. But everybody knows the European speaker driver has much better quality. It is the same in the projector surface industry.

Regarding ambient light and dark environments , you need to balance both environments. For maximum performance, ambient light requires low gains or surface, dark environment requires higher gains of surface, they are contradiction each other, in this case, you can not emphasis too much in ambient light environment but sacrifice the dark environment performance. So balance both is very important.
