Das Motiv der Münze zeigt den Kopf Konstantins von der berühmten Marmorstatue aus der Apsis der Maxentius-Basilika in Rom, die aktuell im Palazzo dei Conservatori ausgestellt wird. Umrandet wird er von den Inschriften "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA", der Legende "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" (In diesem Zeichen sollst du siegen) sowie dem Namen des Münz-Designers "U. PERNAZZA". Auf der Werteseite ist ein Detail aus dem Konstantinbogen in Rom zu sehen, dieser wurde Konstantin zur Feier seines Sieges über Massenzio in der Schlacht von Ponte Milvio gewidmet. Ebenfalls im Design enthalten sind die aufgeprägten Aufschriften "CONSTANTINVS", "10 EURO" und "2021". Konstantin der Große (272 AD - 337 AD) war der erste christliche Kaiser des römischen Reiches und bekannt für seine zahlreichen Eroberungen. Er stellte die christliche Religion mit dem Vielgötterglauben der Römer gleich und legte den Sonntag als Feiertag fest. Besonders bekannt ist er auch durch die Umbenennung der heutigen Stadt Istanbul, damals Byzanz, in Konstantinopel. Er starb 377 in Nikomedia und wurde unter der Apostelkirche in Konstantinopel beigelegt. Seine sterblichen Überreste sind seit der Eroberung der Stadt durch die Türken 1453 verschwunden.
