Photograph Notes: At the northern end of Burnley Road. There has been an hotel or inn here for a very long time. The archway strongly suggests that coaching, or ostling, facilities may have earlier been provided. The present pub sign features the four queens from a pack of cards, but whether that suggests that poker is played is not known to me.
