Biography
Sculptor, and director of the modelling workshop at Sèvres from 1755 to 1766. The biscuit figures made during this period are incised with an F. Falconet was a pupil of J.B. Lemoyne. 1766-88 he worked in St Petersburg on a statue of Peter the Great for Empress Catherine. His many writings on art were published in 6 vols 1781-2.
