Loake are most famous for their Goodyear Welted footwear, an intricate construction that can be traced back over 300 years. With an estimation of 50 million pairs sold. Goodyear welted is the method of construction that has made Nothamptonshire's traditional shoemakers famous throughout the world. All of the UK shoes are made from Goodyear Welted soles. The stitched construction gives great comfort and excellent shape retention. The leather, as it is a natural material, allows the wearer's feet to breath. One of the best features of Goodyear Welted construction however is that the shoes are designed to be repairable.
