SFC Motor Sports now offers an aftermarket, all aluminum version of the BMW rear shade slider, or ?T-Slider?. This part has improved dimensions over the OEM plastic version and is a direct replacement. The use of aluminum material allows this version of the T-Slider to better withstand the hot interior temperatures of a sunny day which can make plastic softer and more likely to break. There is also the large amount of force from the mechanical action necessary to open and close the rear shade which can snap the plastic ring clear off the OEM plastic version. The OEM plastic version has been well documented to crack due to high temperatures combined with the mechanical force of opening and closing the rear shade.

We have also engineered our aluminum BMW T-Sliders with a several key features for better sliding action and longer life:

• Large radius edges and corners for better sliding inside the shade track. The OEM design has sharp edges which can cause the T-Slider to catch while in motion, breaking the plastic ring, forcing the rail to tweak, or putting excess strain on the motor causing it to burn out prematurely.

• High-gloss black anodizing which provides a smoother sliding surface which works with the track grease to reduce the friction inside the shade track .

• Complete installation kit which contains details instructions, installation tools required such as Hex Key and Torx bit, plus high grade lubricant grease for the track. We also include an extra set of nuts and bolts just in case. NOTE: We have not seen any other company offer these extras, nor mention that they are required as part of the installation. This could save you a trip to the local parts store in the middle of the install, and keep a few extra dollars in your pocket.
