Photograph Notes: Positive human touch is an integral part of our interaction with each other. Whether by a warm embrace, a reassuring hand on the shoulder or linking arms, physical contact is a large part of how we show concern and compassion. Social distancing and lockdowns during the pandemic have led to many (most?) of us experiencing "touch deprivation" as evidenced by the rising numbers suffering mental health problems during the last 18 months. This has been referenced by Brighton-based artist Judith Berrill in her statue "A Hug for the World".
