DESCRIPTION

Three sheets taped into one;  Measures 55 by 113 inches;  Topographical map with Mylar overlay allowing the use of a blue felt tip pen for the arrows.  The map will be shipped rolled in a very large, heavy tube measuring 58 inches in length;  Included in this auction is verification of the map as an actual map used in the field in the form of the book:  "Historical Atlas of the United States with Original Maps"  by Derek Hayes;  The book is signed with the inscription:  "To Chris With many thanks for your map (Map 523, page 254)  Derek Hayes October 2006;  The map and book will be shipped separately.  Shipping will be by USPS Priority Mail for OVERSIZE PACKAGING!

CONDITION

Map is in Fine, used condition;  The book is in Fine condition and the jacket will be wrapped in a Demco clear plastic book cover.  

FEATURES

"This army field map was used in 1991 to show the troops the plan of attack on Al Kuwayt (Kuwait City) during Desert Storm.  The map has two layers:  The base is a topographical map and a Mylar sheet on which the lines of attack have been drawn with a (blue) felt-tip pen.  The Mylar sheet makes the map very difficult to photograph because it produces reflections."
