A perennial shrub or tree native to Australia. It can grow up to 4m in height with triangle-shaped phyllodes. It produces a beautiful display of bright yellow flowers and is commonly found in central NSW and southern QLD. It grows in clay-loam or sandstone soils and is often found on rocky ridges.
This plant is commonly use for cut flowers. The flowers are edible, also yellow dye is extracted from the flowers and green dye from the seed pods.
Common name: Dogtooth Wattle; Half-Moon Wattle; Golden-Glow Wattle.
Germination Tips: To increase the germination rate, the seed should be treated first. It can be soaked in hot water or the seed can be nicked or scarred so that water will penetrate the seed's hard coating and induce germination. Use a sandy free draining soil mix and place in a warm area.
