Magellan Spacecraft Metal Model 8.5"
This Magellan Spacecraft metal model is brand new, fully built & assembled and ready for display (not a kit).
The Magellan Spacecraft Venus Planetary Space Probe model is completely hand-built & handcrafted of metal with a metal frame. The thruster module, Star 48B solid rocket motor, antennae, solar panels and stand are welded into position (no parts are glued on).
This Magellan Spacecraft model is hand painted and the "United States with Flag" insignia is a decal. The white sticker on the back of the solar panel can be easily removed, it states “This is not a toy. For Decorative Use Only.”
This model is the manufacturer's artistic interpretation of a Magellan Spacecraft and so some details are not entirely correct. It is sure to command attention & become a conversational addition to your NASA Space Mission decor. The Magellan spacecraft was a robotic space probe launched by NASA of the United States, on May 4, 1989, to map the surface of Venus by using synthetic-aperture radar and to measure the planetary gravitational field. The Magellan probe was the first interplanetary mission to be launched from the Space Shuttle, the first one to use the Inertial Upper Stage booster, and the first spacecraft to test aerobraking as a method for circularizing its orbit. Magellan was the fifth successful NASA mission to Venus, and it ended an eleven-year gap in U.S. interplanetary probe launches.
