This HMV gramophone is a model 109 and is in full working order. The model is of the late 1920's: it was advertised in the 1928-1929 company brochure (with the oak model costing £10-10-0d and the mahogany costing £12-0-0d). Although the model can be dated to then, this exact gramophone was most likely manufactured in the 1930s.
HMV - His Masters' Voice - was a famous brand of gramophone from before WW2. The original style dates from 1913 and their products were still being used well into the 1960's (when 78rpm records, which are still available today, were still being played).
