Porcelain Baby Plate with Children Playing Decal, 7 ½ inch diameter, 1 ½ inches high, marked “Germany” on back though a little smeared, incised on back “34/T”, probably early1900’s, wear to the lusterware painted rim, tiny dimple to inside dish that was done in the making, wear to the decal from use, heavy porcelain dish with raised sides and indented inner edge for catching food on a spoon, childhood theme transfer decal in center of dish with 2 little girls at wash tubs and 1 little girl holding a doll, a little boy stands behind the standing girl flirting or giving moral support, of course the rim is painted pink, this is a little girl’s plate illustrated with things that little girls will need to know, the inside of the dish is not flat due to the molded center ring on the back so the transfer decal has a slight fault on the face of the girl with the doll, still a charming piece of early childhood, very decorative.
