Mit "Die Gefährten" feierte der erste Teil der erfolgreichen Filmreihe im Dezember 2001 Weltpremiere. Anlässlich des 20. Jubiläums von Der Herr der Ringe™ hat die New Zealand Post diese Premium Silber-Anlagemünze ausgegeben. Das Motiv zeigt eine berühmte Szene aus dem Film, in welcher Boromir™ das gebrochene Schwert Narsil in der Hand hält. Die legendäre Waffe Elendils zerbrach in der Schlacht des letzten Bündnisses. Mit der zerbrochenen Klinge schnitt Isildur, Elendils Sohn, den Einen Ring von Saurons Finger. Die Bruchstücke der Klinge wurden in Bruchtal aufbewahrt, dem Ort der Versammlung von Lord Elronds einberufenem Rat. Auf seiner Schulter sind die Worte "THE BLADE THAT CUT THE RING FROM SAURON'S HAND" (dt.: Die Klinge, die den Ring von Saurons Hand schnitt) eingraviert. Zusätzlich sind die Aufschriften "THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING", "20th ANNIVERSARY" und der Nennwert "ONE DOLLAR" im Design enthalten. Die Rückseite zeigt das Porträt von Königin Elizabeth II sowie Gewicht, Feinheit, Ausgabejahr und die Aufschrift "MIDDLE EARTH". Boromir™ wurde von seinem Vater Denethor II, Truchsess von Gondor, beauftragt, nach Bruchtal zu reisen, um den Einen Ring für Gondor zu gewinnen. Von Lord Elrond als Vertreter der Menschen bestimmt, wurde er Teil der Gefährten rund um Frodo™, Gandalf™ und Aragorn™. Boromir™ fiel heldenhaft im Kampf gegen Sarumans™ Orks, als er versuchte, die beiden Hobbits Merry™ und Pippin™ zu beschützen. Die Boromir™ Premium Silber-Anlagemünze zum 20. Jubiläum von "Die Gefährten" ist weltweit auf lediglich 10.000 Exemplare limitiert. Die Lieferung erfolgt in einer schützenden Münzkapsel.

"The Fellowship of the Ring" is the first part of the successful film series and celebrated its world premiere in December 2001. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings, the New Zealand Post has issued this Premium Silver Bullion Coin. The motive shows the famous scene from the film in which Boromir™ holds the broken sword Narsil. The legendary weapon of Elendil broke in the battle of the Last Alliance. With the broken blade, Isildur, Elendil's son, cut the One Ring from Sauron's finger. The fragments of the blade were kept in Rivendell, the place of assembly of Lord Elrond's convened council. On his shoulder the phrase "THE BLADE THAT CUT THE RING FROM SAURON'S HAND" has been engraved. Additionally, the inscriptions "THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING", "20th ANNIVERSARY" and the denomination "ONE DOLLAR" are included in the design. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the weight, fineness, year of issue and the inscription "MIDDLE EARTH". Boromir™ was tasked by his father, Denethor II, Steward of Gondor, to travel to Rivendell to win the One Ring for Gondor. Appointed by Lord Elrond to represent the Men, he became part of the Fellowship around Frodo™, Gandalf™ and Aragorn™. Boromir™ fell heroically in battle against Sarumans™ orcs while trying to protect the two hobbits Merry™ and Pippin™.
