Pristine White linen with exceptional heavy, raised hand embroidery, tiny drawnwork along the scalloped edge, and extensive tiny seed stitch accents. Beautiful pattern of ROSES. Measures 12" and in PERFECT condition. NEVER used with the ORIGINAL label!
Truly a stunning Wedding handkerchief.....
Every stitch is hand made and this magnificent piece took one exceptionally skilled embroideress working full time, over a month to embroider. These are frequently misidentified and sold as Madeira, but these beauties were actually made in China (of the finest Chinese hand embroidery). This type of Old World handwork is no longer being produced due to the lack of skillful needle workers and the amount of time it takes to complete.
