Photograph Notes: This rather curious 17 foot tall sculpture stands outside the Liverpool John Moores University Library. It was designed by Japanese artist Taro Chiezo and there appear to be two theories as to what it represents: either a comment on the dangers of genetic engineering or the traffic of imported bananas and exported lambs that once passed through the port of Liverpool. In any case it seems to have become a symbol of the city rivalling the Liver Birds.
