An indicator of extreme hyperinflation, the 500,000 Argentinian peso banknote was demonetized in 1985. The green banknote measures 155 mm by 75 mm. The obverse features the El Libertador of Argentina, Chile, and Peru Jose Francisco de San Martin y Matorras. The reverse side features Jose Moreno Carboneros Segunda Fundacion de Buenos Aires (Second Foundation of Buenos Aires) and the Argentinian national emblem. The note does not have a security thread. However, it has a sunburst pattern watermark.
