Włodek, 30, a would-be Russian studies graduate and a modest bookstore worker, leads a boring, bourgeois life with his wife Hanka, son and in-laws. He lacks any professional ambitions and interests. Włodek feels completely dominated by his wife and mother-in-law. One day, under the pretext of buying cigarettes, he leaves the house, wanting to leave it forever. By chance, he meets a Polish studies student, Irena, with whom he has an affair. Irena wants to make him the man of her dreams at all costs. Almost against Włodek's will, he tries to promote him as a translator, or even a writer, the chosen one of fate and an ornament in Warsaw salons. However, her efforts are in vain ...
"Hunt for Flies" is a satire on the progressive changes in a society in which women are becoming more domineering and dominant, and men are becoming weaker and less masculine.
