VINTAGE SPITFIRE LODGE SPARK PLUG ADVERTISING POSTER
FREE UK POSTAGE

Credited by some as the inventor of the spark plug as we know it, Lodge made gains on the ground, in the air and on water.

The majority of Lodge World War II production went to aircraft engines, which were operating under very high heat and pressure, particularly in engines like the supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin V-12. In order to make its plugs work in such a high-pressure environment, the company perfected the use of platinum on the electrodes, rather than the nickel previously used.

I have used for inspiration a selection of original black and white magazine adverts, that I have redrawn digitally to improve their quality.  Not a poor quality reprint!

A vintage inspired motorcycling advert from a time gone by.
The artwork has been professionally reproduced and printed onto premium 200 gsm satin photographic poster paper using quality archival pigment inks to ensure vivid and rich coloured prints. Using high quality inks mean they are more resistant to fading, however be careful hanging your print in direct sunlight. Actual colours may vary slightly as each monitor displays colours differently.
