Portrait miniatures of 


- Friedrich II of Prussia, called Friedrich the Great (1712-1786) in the middle and from left to right, starting with upper row: 

- Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz (1701-1786)

- Kaiser Josef II (1741-1790), Friedrich II. of Prussia (1712-1786)

- Friedrich von Anhalt (1732-1794), Hans Joachim von Ziethen (1699-1786)

- Gideon Ernst von Laudon (1716-1790)

These six miniatures show strong influence of works of the Prussian court artist Anton Friedrich Koenig.

The well-known German miniaturist Anton Friedrich Koenig (1722 Berlin - 1787 ibidem) was a pupil of C.L.Blesendorf and A.Pesne and from 1767 worked as royal portrait miniature painter in Berlin, being the most productive North German miniaturist of his time. He is supposed to have made several thousands of miniatures alone of Friedrich the Great.
