Photograph Notes: Before 1886 the valley running down from the Bogs Field was used as a park known as the Valley Pleasure Grounds. In 1886 the Corporation bought the site and later extensions followed in 1898 1901 and 1926 to form the modern Valley Gardens. This view is just next to the bowling green.
