A rare antique Royal Doulton Auld Lang Syne tobacco jar from 1906. There is an aphorism printed around the inside rim which reads 'He who will calmly smoke, will think like a sage, and act like a Samaritan', probably a widely held view at the time.
The jar is missing it's lid and there is a large chip on the base edge, please see photos 8, 9 & 10, otherwise in very good condition.
