Photograph Notes: Here a huge JCB fills the hopper on the right and through a system of conveyor belts plastic and metal is sorted. Ingenious as the metal cans are lifted by magnets and go down one avenue whilst aluminium is blown upwards and goes another way whilst plastic ends up on another level. All three materials are then squashed and baled.
