The Tricottet Collection presents:

Limited edition facsimile of Wulfen’s treatise, ex. W.W. Pinch, one of 20 copies!

Characteristics: Wulfen, X. (1785, 1990 ed.), Treatise on Carinthian lead spars. Short Hills, HP Obodda (leather over marbled boards, no. 12/20, with W.W. Pinch blind stamp). A very rare facsimile reprint of the original German edition of 1785 photocopied on simulated hand-made paper. Predates by seven years the Mineralogical Record reprint of the same title. The original work is one of the eighteenth century’s finest examples of a book containing hand-coloured mineral illustrations. Herb Obodda, who prepared this facsimile, is considered a "collector extraordinaire" in White (2008).

Provenance: William W. Pinch (1940-2017), well-known mineral collector

About us: We collect historic collectibles previously owned by famous collectors and/or institutions, and which represent milestones in the history of collecting. We consider all domains of collecting, from naturalia (minerals, meteorites, fossils, shells, etc.) to artificialia (coins, stamps, sport memorabilia, vintage toys, etc.). We consider objects with impressive pedigrees as well as rare collection catalogues and other unique documents. We have written articles on the history of collecting in various magazines and journals, including Meteorite, Colligo and Archives of Natural History. We make some of our specimens and documents available to other collectors from time to time.
