A very nice 18th Century, continental watercolour depicting military manoeuvres in Drachenfels, Germany. Unsigned. On paper. Glued to paper backing and mounted in line and wash mount. Approx. Size: in mount: 32cms x 23.5cms painting 20.5cms x 11cms Condition - please also see photographs.
In good condition - commensurate with age and usage. Painting - Some discolouration to edges, corresponding to points where it has been glued to the paper backing, burn marks round edges from mount, minor marks to sky area of image. Mount/backing paper - backing is double sided taped along top edge of reverse to mount, mount is joined with tape. Both have some age tanning, with burn marks to inside edges of mount aperture. Back of mount is annoted "Drachenfels" in pencil. Colours are deeper than shown in photographs. FREE UK MAINLAND
