Authentic 1920’s Danish Georg Jensen Sterling Silver “Blossom” Bowl, Magnolia Bud

This exquisite vintage Danish Georg Jensen sterling silver bowl is designed in the Blossom pattern, an Art Nouveau motif of magnolia buds created by Jensen. It is stamped “Sterling 2B Denmark” and bears two maker’s marks, one used between 1915 and 1930 and the other between 1925 and 1932, by Georg Jensen (1866-1935), the famous  Danish silversmith and designer. It also bears the mark “GS”, that of George Stockwell, silver importer in Finsbury street in London. The letter “U” is the import mark of the assay office of London and the letter “M” indicates the year of importation, 1927.  Using all these marks it is possible to date this piece between the years of 1925 and 1927 in Denmark, during the lifetime of Georg Jensen, and to verify its importation into London in 1927 by George Stockwell. This piece is in excellent condition with the exception of faint scratches due to great age and normal use. This authentic piece produced while Georg Jensen was still active will be a precious addition to any collection. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
