Die siebte Ausgabe der Der Herr der Ringe™ Classic Serie ist Gimli™ gewidmet. Die Münze wurde von der New Zealand Mint aus einer 1/4 Unze 99,99% reinem Gold in der Qualität Polierte Platte geprägt. Das Motiv zeigt den Zwerg kampfbereit in voller Rüstung und mit gezogener Axt. Auf der Rückseite sind das Porträt von Königin Elizabeth II, der Nennwert und das Ausgabejahr zu sehen. Als Sohn von Glóin aus dem Volke Durins, wurde Gimli der Zwerg zusammen mit seinem Vater als Bote zum Rat von Lord Elrond geschickt. Als Teil der Gemeinschaft des Ringes um den Ringträger Frodo Beutlin™, war er der einzige Vertreter vom Volk der Zwerge. Auf der gefährlichen Reise schlug es die Gemeinschaft jedoch in unterschiedliche Richtungen. As part of the Fellowship of the Ring around the Ringbearer Frodo Baggins™, he was the only representative of the people of the Dwarves. The dangerous journey, however, send the fellowship in different directions. Aragorn™, Gimli and the Elf Legolas™ made it their mission to free the captured hobbits Merry and Pippin. An unusual friendship between human, elf and dwarf developed on the journey that lasted until their deaths.
