This method does not work on the newer model such as T450, T460, T470, T480, T490, X240, X250, X260, X270, X280 etc. I can only help with the models listed above.

I used to work for Lenovo and as a computer technician and I have a way to remove the BIOS password (both power-on password and supervisor password) without soldering or reprogramming the EEPROM. Yes, you no longer need to solder the BIOS chip to remove the password! I will send you a step by step guide in PDF format with images. All BIOS settings will be restored to factory defaults including the fingerprint reader data.

You don't have to buy a new BIOS chip anymore and wait weeks for it to arrive. My method works immediately and is guaranteed to work 100%. 

No extra software needed, no extra tools needed. Please note some disassembly of the laptop is required: for most models only the keyboard needs to be removed but on some models the base must be removed.
