An Antique Victorian Oak Bobbin Stand Complete With Five Pearsall's Floss Silk Thread Reels. 



A charming antique oak & steel combination bobbin and thimble stand with pin cushion dating from around 1880.
 
This period sewing stand has been maintained in good order.  Made of solid oak the stand is made of a circular piece of turned solid oak.  Five heavy steel pins are set in this tier to hold thread bobbins.  Each of these pins is occupied by a different colour of "Pearsalls Floss Silk.  These appear unused and are also stamped "Made in England. Approx 1/2 dram"  The six space is occupied by a turned dome of oak to form a thimble holder.  A central well turned column is finished with an elegant cup which contains the red velvet pin cushion and pins.  The wood has been well cared for and has a lovely polished gleam.     
  
Dimensions: The stand has a base diameter of 9.5cm.  The stand is approximately 13cm tall.

Weight; 153g's.
 

Condition: In good used antique condition.  The wood is well grained and has a lovely wax polished gleam.  There are some surface marks.  The central turned column has one small and the head of the thimble rest has minor chips as shown in the images.  The steel pins are clean, unpolished and patinated.  The stand does have some very minor surface marks from past use etc. The pin cushion has a good number of old pins.  The old floss silk reels appear unused.  The colours are true and bright.  All labels are intact with the exception of the manufacturers label.  There is some lifting of the labels.  We encourage potential buyers to make use of the 24 images to satisfy themselves of condition and encourage any enquiries.

We actively encourage buyers to review the images that do constitute part of the description.  As with many vintage/antique items the sewing stand does have minor marks as outlined from past use and age. The stand is in good antique condition that can be immediately enjoyed.  The bobbin stand is priced to sell. 

Please note that the scissors and thimble are used for decorative purposes only and are not included in the sale.  The five floss silk reels are included.

Payment

We accept paypal payments. We also accept cheques but they must be cleared before any items will be sent. Buyers are also welcome to pick up items in which case we would accept cash.

Shipping

We do our best to ensure that all items are well packaged to ensure their safe arrival. In the event of rough postal handling and subsequent damage please contact us to allow us to resolve the problem. It is the buyers responsibility to check that the parcel is undamaged before signing for it Due to problems with items going missing, all items will be sent recorded, heavier items will be sent by Parcel Force 48 which requires a signature on delivery.This will be reflected in the postage costs, if you are not happy with the cost of postage then please do not place a bid. If you have any additional packaging or postal requirements we are always happy to accomodate. If you need an item particularly quickly e.g for a birthday present then please let us know straight away and we will dispatch as a priority. We will happily combine postage on multiple purchases. We are also happy for buyers to pick up items with cash on collection. International buyers must contact for postal rates prior to bidding. Some items may be automatically be excluded due to weight, fragility etc. All items sent abroad will be sent 'signed for' which will add to the postage cost. We always ensure that delicate items are packed carefully and thoroughly to ensure a safe journey, we use new,professional packaging materials bought specifically for the job. We do not aim to make any money out of postal charges, we charge just enough to cover the costs of sending items. Our main priority is that items arrive undamaged. Please bear in mind when leaving feedback that postal prices have recently increased considerably and that delicate items need a huge amount of packaging materials to ensure a safe arrival. Please also bear in mind that postage costs do not simply cover the cost of the stamp, they cover the cost of quality materials, time and petrol to get items to the post office. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE POSTAGE COSTS PLEASE DO NOT PLACE A BID.

Terms of Sale

We do not accept bids from ebayers with a positive feedback of less than 25. If you would like to place a bid but you have a low feedback score then please contact us first We accept that occasionally a buyer might feel dissatisfied with a purchase and in that instance we would ask that you contact us directly and we will do our best to resolve any problems. This includes returns, for reasonable reasons, which we accept with the buyer paying for return postage.
