Beltane Doll Kit repro S & H 22" brown ringlet wig porcelain head hands & feet

"S + H" stands for "Schoenau & Hoffmeister"  who were active in Sonneberg, Germany, from 1901 to 1953. There is a mark on the rear of the doll's neck that is similar to the S + H logo shown in the fourth picture above. The "PB" in the star refers to Porzellanfabrik Burggrub  (SHPB) located in Burggrub, Germany.

This doll kit was made by Beltane of Bolsover, Derbyshire, in about 1980.

The box is marked "33 S + H 1909. Brown ringlet wig, B/G eyes."

The doll is believed to make up to about 22" but there's nothing in the box to confirm this. However, the pattern included for making the soft body is consistent with this approximate measurement.

The head can tilt and swivel on the shoulder plate.
