This design is rarely seen on the Ebay market, maybe Doulton didn't make very many sets in the Saxe pattern?
A vintage 1930s Royal Doulton Art Deco Coffee Can Demitasse Cup and Saucer in the Pattern No. H4404 called "Saxe"
Condition is excellent vintage - no chips, cracks or crazing at all. A lovely trefoil design in gold with blue dots and bands. Colours bright and clear. Lots of gilding! A really fantastic clean and simple design - very effective!
Cup measures just over 2.5 inches high and 2.5 inches across
Saucer is just under 5 inches in diameter.
Saucer is dated 1.11.35
